Everstone Studio is opening the gates to its most ambitious setting yet. Where Winds Meet will roll out the Secrets of the Imperial Palace expansion on May 28, recreating Kaifeng's forbidden city as a sprawling new playground that launches with PS5 Pro enhancements.
A forbidden city built for exploration
The Kaifeng Imperial Palace spans more than one million square meters and is filled with over 3,000 dynamic NPCs whose routines shape a living court ecosystem. Players slip in under the cover of an investigation before being pulled into the Office of Martial and Virtue, the dynasty's elite intelligence wing, kicking off an undercover storyline that digs into secrets buried at the heart of power.
Court life, danger and world bosses
Beyond the espionage arc, the expansion leans hard into everyday court culture. Confirmed activities include Cricket Fighting, seasonal Ice Frolicking, breaking out of the Imperial Prison, sneaking bites of the royal meal, and discovering hidden martial arts masters tucked away in the palace grounds.
The darker side of the dynasty waits in the Sealed Treasury, where its buried history surfaces, and the underground Confinement Tower, designed around brutal illusion encounters. Two new world bosses, the Silken Wrath and the Royal Kitten, headline the combat additions.
